Expectations. Fulfilled or unmet?

Something the Lord has taught me through this “grieving” period.

Having expectations isn’t a bad thing. Though when someone’s reactions to something we do or don’t do isn’t how we expect, we must let go of what we expected and accept what really happened.

In this type situation, expectations can hold us captive. It stops us from living in the present joys of the moment.

When this occurs, we must ask ourselves, is my expectation not being met more important than the present or do I need to find out why my expectation is so important to me and allow the Lord to reveal it and heal it.

If my expectations keep me from living in the moments, enjoying the little things in life then expectations are a problem and I need to meet with the Lord to correct them.

From new experiences…living each moment and letting things go is much better than what unmet expectations ever gave me!!!

Unmet expectations can harm us and keep us captive far more than we may realize. We must be watchful and not allow the enemy a foothold by taking our unmet expectations and turning them into bitterness, unforgiveness or hurt. God wants us to bring them to Him so He can show us through His eyes to quickly deal with it and move on to enjoying the present!!!

Lord, open our understanding to any unmet expectations we have so we will give them to You to accept what You want to show or give us instead! In Jesus holy name, Amen!!!
